Ree Drummond is renowned for her culinary prowess and homely recipes, but as the beloved host of The Pioneer Woman on Food Network, she reveals to Southern Living that she harbors a second deep affection: fashion.

“If I had to single out my two top passions in the world, next to my cherished granddaughter, it’s food and fashion,” Drummond declares. And fortuitously for us, she is bringing her fervor for fashion to her exclusive Ree by The Pioneer Woman clothing line at QVC.

It transpires that throughout her 14-year television career, Drummond has meticulously observed how her audience responds to her personal style, noting the silhouettes that pique their curiosity and the patterns that capture their affection.
“I’ve always favored wearing what I’m most comfortable in—a blend of casual and comfortable with a touch of femininity,” she elucidates. “I’ve noticed which pieces I wear elicit the most queries about where to find similar ones, and I’ve stored that information away.”
When discussing inspiration beyond her viewers, Drummond concedes that there is no single formula for her creative process or one technique she employs to craft her designs. Yet, her creations often start with print and color. Her fans are already aware of her penchant for florals and patterns, but with this collection, she aimed for a more understated approach. Her signature florals are now positioned in a more “refined and calculated” manner, with a “vintage twist.” In fact, Drummond confides to Southern Living that she prefers them to “resemble something from my grandmother’s china cabinet.”
This style sensibility is prominently showcased in the latest collection, featuring a delicate sprinkling of flowers at the hem of a simple, flowing midi dress, or a vibrant embroidered floral accent on the shoulders of a cozy sweater.
Drummond holds denim in high regard, considering it an essential wardrobe staple, and claims she is almost constantly in it. Her QVC line offers a range of classic styles, including bootcut and straight-leg jeans. In fact, one of her favorite items is denim-inspired.
It’s a timeless shirt dress that reaches the knee, boasts adjustable long sleeves, a belt for a cinched waist, and a chest pocket. Despite not being denim, it was meticulously designed to mimic denim, enhanced by its stretchy, knitted fabric.
“I wear it open as a duster over a black tank top,” Drummond explains, highlighting its versatility. It turns out that her 26-year-old daughter, Paige, is a fan too, wearing it as a traditional dress. This style transcends generations and aligns with another of The Pioneer Woman’s objectives: universal wearability.
Drummond is steadfast in her belief that her clothing must be practical for any day of the week, suitable for various events, and adaptable to everyday life. To achieve this, she sought styles that could be mixed and matched, worn in numerous ways. “For each piece, the criteria was: Will I be thrilled to wear this on a Tuesday afternoon, a Friday date night, or a Sunday service, or wherever my life takes me?”
Her pursuit of versatility in fashion mirrors her approach to cooking. “I adore gadgets and tools with dual purposes, so you don’t need a myriad of items. My approach to both cooking and curating my wardrobe is similar in this regard.”
Ultimately, Drummond desires that her collection empowers everyone who wears it to feel like their “best selves.” She doesn’t mean everyone must stride confidently like a celebrity on a red carpet. Instead, she wants her clothes to provide a “lightness of being,” enabling individuals to face their days comfortably and with increased confidence, becoming “the version of themselves they love the most.”
Whether you consider floral prints a wardrobe staple, as Drummond does, or you favor grandma-inspired patterns, you can now explore the offerings of Ree by The Pioneer Woman at QVC.
