We assessed a range of economic and quality-of-life indicators, utilizing data on housing prices, average income levels, and proximity to recreational and cultural attractions, among other benchmarks. We engaged with local residents, leaned on the insights of Southern Living’s editorial team, and sought locations where the overall standard of living is particularly high.
